about

Last September/October, we were lucky enough to tour with Half Strange. Travelling north from Kaurna country into Adnyamathanha country & across to Wilyakali country alongside my favourite artists in the world! Midway, nestled between rocky gorges and dry creek beds, we stayed at a shearing station, comforted by each other, our music, the nature & powered by a generator with enough fuel to power our amps & synths. On the second day (lol 📖), we decided to write together, play on each others songs & record (thanks to the talent, patience and generosity of Annika) a compilation of tracks by all the artists. Violinsss, fiddle!, tambourines & gospel-like choirs reverberating in a rickety old shed, wavering in the wind & accompanied by a nesting pair of vocal willy wagtails. I got to play a song of mine, with Jess Johns & Danika on vocals, Skye McNicol of Workhorse playing violin & willy wagtail on pure joy!! The song is called Ocean Baths. From a long time ago, about love & new places that become immediately familiar to you through somebody you love.

The rest of the artists songs are yet to be revealed, but when they do rest assured I will be sharing them!

All my love ❤️

lyrics

Tell me again, how do you feel?
Cos I’m stuck at the ocean baths, again
Watching you shiver holding back words
But there is just no dialogue to explain this feeling

I could go back again
Hold onto your fingers
Your eyes
I’m always on block 5
And I’ll stare at the sky again
Rest my head between you neck and shoulder

And if it lingers I’m sure that I’ll be back again
