Find Yourself Alone

by Keeskea

supported by
Michael Mueller

Michael Mueller A beautiful, almost glacially-stilled EP of gentle, poignant songs. Keeskea commands attention through the calm confidence that that can only come from being at peace with one's vulnerability.

These are carefully crafted songs, in which subtle acoustic instrumentations frame the vocal harmonies.

The production is crisply spacious, and the effect is one of lingering tranquility.

I hope a full album isn't far away. Highly recommended. Favorite track: Forfeit.

Miff Morris Very sweet and delicate vibrations from this talented artist. I found this music right on the mouth of having my heart wrenched and this music sincerely spoke to what i was going through. So thank you Keeskea, music most certainly unites and can speak the unspoken. A haunting emotive fusion of vocal, instrumentation and electronics executed with much intricate attention. ~X~ Favorite track: Help Me.
Rose Petals

Rose Petals What a treat to get this a day early. Delicate and wonderful is a good way to describe this. Favorite track: Red Shirt, Green Socks.
Dr. Beaf

Dr. Beaf Eary and airy, sweetly raw, stripped bare, confronting and comforting.

I'd Doubt 04:18
wait I'd doubt you'd save me the time lift up you head tell me that you're sorry tethered by words you'd say to pass the time try not to ferment it tell me that you're sorry just tell me that you're sorry and if I can't come back from this flawed mind tell me what to do and if I do collapse from all the truth's that I lack cos I am not able to wake myself for you and I'll try not to see it tell me that you're sorry tell me that you're sorry about it
2.
Forfeit 04:17
when you've got the time then you're gonna cry you let yourself down you're gonna lose wanna tie that noose? you let yourself down fickle and faint I will kneel never really had the time to feel perplexed help me find the line not to cross before it becomes a crime and I've got nothing left to show for it forfeit "take care, stay there" but I don't wanna be anywhere where does the devil meet all the minds that can't seem to find their feet and I'm losing all the will and I never really had the time to heal perplexed help me find the line not to cross before it becomes a crime and I've got nothing left to show for it and I've got nothing left to show for it forfeit I got caught I got caught I got caught I got caught I got caught I
3.
Help Me 03:08
did you see me? did you, see me? the water's coming down and I'll drown if you don't help me if you don't help me you left me here I'm cold instead you left me here help me and when you find yourself alone just come down to my door and if you find yourself my love just know I'll always want more
4.
and I know it's not the best you've felt and I wasn't good at giving you help if I knew more of the ways that I could try I wouldn't hide if I knew the way you felt before you left for that house - red shirt, green socks and something you wore your thoughts as though they didn't need to hide I wish I were blind I was lost more than I care to admit but that's because a lot of the things that you did made me feel that maybe I wasn't enough and that night I fought so much in my head what to say, was it appropriate? if I ignore the words caught in my chest I wouldn't have left I have waited so long you're not here to mend this you're not here to mend this
5.
I would like to speak with you again if it's not too much to ask I'll see you then? I'll come to your house will you let me in? or hide from me and hide from what you've always been? (I mind) (you lied) you didn't want to speak again too soon but laughed at me what did you expect me to do? I've never felt so small in a shadow but I won't shy away from it just so you know.

about

The ambient compositions of Keeskea (case-kay-ah) exist between worlds. Both electronic and naturalistic, ghostly and melodic, rhythmic and adrift, the Adelaide artist's self-produced 5 track debut "Find Yourself Alone" is both placid and filled with lyrical unease. A suite of gentle compositions whose odd, surreal beauty cannot be underestimated.

With a unique gift for making sense of what’s tangled, 21 year old Vanessa Marousopoulos unwinds sensitive emotions to their threadbare state with her vintage Harmony Alden H45 Stratotone and whisper-close vocals, couching them in gentle electronic production, but leaving more than enough space for reflection and reconnection.

Perhaps what is most striking about Find Yourself Alone is that its sense of space and emotion is bottomless.
